It turns out that store-bought ladyfingers are pretty disappointing compared to homemade ones!
Back in my pre-vegan days, when I dipped store-bought ladyfingers into coffee, if I didn’t pull them out right away – they would turn soggy and lose their shape.
And the funniest part? I thought that’s how ladyfingers were supposed to behave in tiramisu! 😅
Until I finally took on the challenge – and made homemade vegan ladyfingers!
They turned out wonderfully spongy, holding their shape beautifully even after soaking in coffee ☕.
From there, it was a short and sweet journey to this gorgeous vegan tiramisu that rivals – and maybe even challenges – the original 😉.
Instead of mascarpone, we use Tofutti cream cheese-style spread – and it does the job perfectly!

✨ How to Make It
- Whip Tofutti with sugar, vanilla extract, and a little orange zest extract 🍊.
- In a separate bowl, whip a vegan whipping cream (like Flora).
- Gently fold the two mixtures together into a luscious cream.
- Dip homemade vegan ladyfingers into strong espresso and line a deep rectangular pan (about 25X20 cm).
- Drizzle a bit more espresso over the ladyfingers.
- Spread a generous layer of the cream.
- Sift a thin layer of cocoa powder over the top.
- Repeat for another layer.

💡 Tip:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
The longer it rests, the deeper and more irresistible the flavors become!
🌟 Ideas for Variations:
- Fresh or frozen berries
- Shaved dark chocolate
- Crushed pralines for extra crunch
(Highly recommend starting with the classic version before experimenting!)

Enjoy every bite, and let me know how it turned out 🙏❣
